Carole G. Comeau, M.Ed. is
a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been a teacher, counselor,
and workshop presenter for over 35 years. Her own formal mid-life
transition work began when she retired from both private practice
and school district work to devote time to exploring options for
the second half of life.
The question Carole posed to herself at that juncture was, "What
would I dare to do if I knew I couldn't fail?" To answer
this question she did women's circle work and attended Jungian
conferences in Ireland (giving special attention to presentations
by Dr. Jean Shinoda Bolen, whose work she admires). This in turn
led her on a quest for greater personal meaning through sacred
sites in England and Scotland, and a circumnavigation of the British
Isles. Taking the internal work she had been doing and turning
it to an outside challenge, Carole tackled learning to fly, obtaining
both a private pilot's license, and an instrument flight rating.
All of this exploration brought her full circle, adding depth
gained from a wide range of experiences to her passion for working
with women who want to explore greater meaning and purpose during
the second half of their lives. Carole's motto is summed up in
an often-quoted saying of the late Alaskan musher and legend,
Norman Vaughan, "Dream big, and dare to fail!"
Carole lives in Eagle River, Alaska, where she continues to create
workshops and seminars for women who wish to consciously design
their lives during times of transition.
